Liverpool Concede Seven for First Time in Over 60 Years

Aston Villa Thump Champions 7-2

Hat-Trick Hero Watkins Fires Villa to Second Place

Liverpool suffered their heaviest defeat in almost six decades as Aston Villa ran riot at Villa Park, winning 7-2 in a stunning Premier League clash. It was the first time the Reds had conceded seven goals in a match since a 7-2 league defeat at Tottenham in April 1963.

Ollie Watkins was the star of the show for Villa, scoring a perfect hat-trick in the first half. The striker's goals gave Villa a 3-1 lead at the break, having earlier canceled out Mohamed Salah's opener.

Villa continued to dominate in the second half, with Ross Barkley, Jack Grealish, and Conor Hourihane all getting on the scoresheet. Liverpool's misery was compounded when Watkins completed his hat-trick in the 89th minute.

The result leaves Liverpool in fifth place in the Premier League table, while Aston Villa move up to second place, behind leaders Everton.
