Team USA Rolls On With Perfect Record

LeBron Leads the Way in Win Over South Sudan

USA Dominates in Third Quarter

The United States men’s basketball team continued their perfect pre-Olympic exhibition record with a 93-87 victory over South Sudan on Saturday.

LeBron James led the way for Team USA with a game-high 25 points, including the game-winning basket with just over a minute remaining. Devin Booker added 22 points, and Kevin Durant chipped in with 19.

Team USA found themselves in an early hole, trailing by 13 points in the first quarter. However, the Americans rallied back and took a two-point lead into halftime.

The third quarter proved to be the difference in the game, as Team USA outscored South Sudan 21-5. Booker’s three-pointer with 58 seconds left in the period tied the score at 76 and sparked a run that gave the Americans a comfortable lead.

South Sudan shot well from the field, hitting 57% of their shots and 6-of-13 from three-point range. However, the Americans made up for it with their defense, forcing 13 turnovers and holding South Sudan to just 25% shooting in the second half.

With the victory, Team USA improves to 4-0 in their pre-Olympic schedule. They will next face Spain on Tuesday in their final exhibition game before the Olympics begin on July 23.
